Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Libyan Airports Authority, part of the Libyan Ministry of Transport in the Government of National Unity, is taking part in the 70th meeting of the Board of Directors and Committees of Airports Council International Africa (ACI AFRICA).
It is part of the Annual General Meetings and the 32nd Conference and Exhibition being held in the Senegalese capital, Dakar. The Airport Authority is represented at the African event, which runs from 14 to 20 October under the theme "Resilience through Innovation".
The delegation is taking part in the activities, meetings, conferences and exhibitions organized on the sidelines of the event, which address the importance of enhancing flexibility in African airports to better prepare for future challenges and crises.
"Through the valuable meetings and sessions that will take place, the conference will focus on adopting bold initiatives and innovative concepts to create a qualitative change to improve the future of aviation at African airports," the ministry said in its statement.
Libya's membership of Airports Council International was suspended for several years due to non-payment of existing obligations owed to the Libyan state. Membership was renewed this year after the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Libyan Embassy in Canada, paid Libya's dues to the Council.
