Tunisia: President Marzouki invites Pope Francis to visit Tunisia

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) – The Tunisian president, Moncef Marzouki, has officially invited Pope Francis to visit Tunisia, the spokesperson for the Tunisian presidency, Adnan Mansour, said on Thursday.

The Tunisian president made the invitation at a meeting in the Vatican with Pope Francis, Mr Mansour said.

He said the Pope praised the adoption by Tunisia of a Constitution which guarantees freedom.

Mr Mansour said Pope Francis accepted the invitation.
