They said that Noulekou gave this indication after talks with the Congolese Minister of SMCs, Mrs Yvonne Adelaïde Moungani.

Mr. Noulekou, who was accompanied by a senior member of the International Financial Company (IFC), informed the minister about the recent partnership between Ecobank and the IFC, a subsidiary of the World Bank.

"The partnership is to enable the two banks boost assistance to Congolese SMCs," said the Ecobank Managing Director.

"We held a working session with the Congolese minister of SMCs about our intervention capacity in the sector of SMCs. We have established partnership with IFC with whom we signed a partnership agreement to increase our capacity in the Congolese market," he said.

In another development, the two parties also discussed other forms of support to the Congolese SMCs, particularly the grating of loans by Ecobank to livestock farmers.
