CAF announces shortlists for 2010 CAF Awards

Dakar, Senegal (PANA) - The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Saturday released the shortlists for the 2010
CAF Awards, to be held 20 Dec. in Cairo, Egypt.

The annual CAF Awards honour the best achievers in African Football.

According to a CAF statement, the final nominees will vie for honours in the respective categories, following their nomination by the
Media, Technical and Football Committees of CAF, taking into consideration the performance during the year under review.

Below are the shortlists

1. PLAYER OF THE YEAR

a) Didier Drogba (Cote d'Ivoire) - 2009 winner

b) Samuel Eto’o Fils (Cameroon)

c) Asamoah Gyan (Ghana)

d) Salomon Kalou (Cote d'Ivoire)

e) Seydou Keita (Mali)

The above shortlist will further be reduced to 3 players on 11 December..

2. AFRICAN-BASED PLAYER OF THE YEAR

a) Alain Dioko (DR Congo)

b) Mohamed Nagi Gedo (Egypt)

c) Ahmed Hassan (Egypt)

3. MOST PROMISING TALENT OF THE YEAR

a) Kwadwo Asamoah (Ghana)

b) Ryad Boudebouz (Algeria)

c) Moussa Maazou (Niger)

4. WOMEN'S FOOTBALL OF THE YEAR

a) Stella Mbachu (Nigeria)

b) Perpetua Nkwocha (Nigeria)

c) Ebere Orji (Nigeria)

5. CLUB OF THE YEAR

a) CS Sfaxien (Tunisia)

b) FUS Rabat (Morocco)

c) TP Mazembe (DR Congo)

6. NATIONAL TEAM OF THE YEAR

a) Algeria

b) Egypt

c) Ghana

7 WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM OF THE YEAR

a) Equatorial Guinea

b) Nigeria senior team

c) Nigeria U-20 women's team

8. COACH OF THE YEAR
